Quality Child Care Initiative
For Parents
The QCCI offers free child care referral services to parents, including information on how to find quality care. Listings of local child care settings, provided by the Department of Social Services, are available here or by mail upon request.
For Child Care Providers
Our program coordinates CPR, First Aid, Health and other training courses for child care center staff and family day home providers. All trainings meet state licensing requirements. Some courses are free of charge while others may have a minimal charge.
Information on trainings is typically included in our newsletter, Children Count, or viewed in the Info for Providers section.
We also offer a Lending Library of teacher books and training videos in addition to a large variety of toys, developmental materials and activity kits.
For additional information on the Quality Child Care Initiative, please contact Sarah Foster at 540-245-5899 x 108 or SarahFoster@ntelos.net.
**Note: The QCCI program, including the Lending Library, operates with limited hours. If you would like to borrow training videos or toys, an appointment is recommended to ensure staff availability.
